Today I bought a donor vehicle for some spare parts.
I want to convert the gearbox to 5 speed and I want to replace the differential with one with a different ratio. Maybe I can use parts of the brake system also. The car is a wrecked Nissan Silvia 1.8 Turbo. |

I removed the engine and the gearbox from the Silvia and checked for some other parts to see if they fit. | ||

I started the gearbox conversion on Friday 3-8-2001 and worked on it all through the weekend.
With the help of a well documented Japanese Skyline page I managed to convert the car to 5 speed. I did not have the opportunity to make any pictures of the process but the gearbox has to be removed at a later time due to the use of the wrong pressure plate bearing. By then I take some pictures and post them on the site. |
